This RCD tester is the 1812EL from SEW and is a microprocessor controlled RCD tester. It has a rotary dial, making selection of the test current extremely easy, with selections from 3mA up to 500mA in 18 user selectable steps.
The 1812EL can test the disconnection time of an RCD, as verification that an RCD trips within a rated time is essential to comply with AS/NZS 3760. This unit will also show the half cycle (negative or positive) at tripping of the RCD. Zero crossing circuitry also permits testing of the RCD at either 0° or 180°. A two line LCD display shows the settings in the instrument, as well as the test result. The 1812EL will test the L-E voltage before testing occurs and over temperature protection and wiring correct indication keeps the user's and electrical system's safety at the forefront.
The user interface is particularly easy to use, with a dial adjustment to select a ripping current between 3-500mA at 18 different positions, and a two push button operation to control other features of the tester
